Somewhere to go.
People to talk to.

Remember going to the mall without needing a damn thing? You went to see who was there. Wander around. Talk about whatever. Stay longer than you meant to.

We miss those places where you could just show up and find your people. Before the food court, there was the tavern: a place to gather, trade news, and argue about the state of things.

In colonial America, some of those conversations got rather consequential. New York’s Sons of Liberty used Fraunces Tavern as a meeting place in the 1770s. People gathered, compared grievances, and organized. Taverns were part of the social life that helped a revolution take shape.

Apparently, letting people sit around and compare notes can lead to a bit of common sense. Occasionally, a whole new country.

We’re just putting the chairs back.

That’s the spirit of The Tavern: our paid community inside The Reason Rebellion. A place to compare notes, bring a question, swap a story, and find your people.

The tunes are free. The facts are free. You don’t have to join, and you can keep your email to yourself.

But if you’d like to pull up a regular chair, The Tavern is $4.99 a month.
